Naida leant against the back wall of the hall, feeling very uneasy at so many people she didn’t know, feeling herself drawn away the people she knew. She could feel her growing confidence in this world ebb away slowly, as she saw that the sea of faces around her had swallowed her up. She walked over to the windows at the other side of the room and watched more and more people making their way outside. She could barely make them out in the dark as the moon and stars had been covered with thick cloud.
